    Position Overview

    Bookkeeper job duties include working closely with the Business Affairs Manager and the Grants and Evaluation Manager to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process payables and receivables and manage invoices and assorted payments. Our ideal candidate is familiar with accounting software packages, like “QuickBooks.” Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record day-to-day financial transactions of the Foundry Community Rowing and Sailing Center.


    • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
    • Periodic reconciliation of general ledger accounts
    • Provide support to Treasurer in responding to information request from outside auditors and tax preparer
    • Work with various organization leaders to ensure timely and accurate billing of fees including but not limited to sponsors, members, teams, programs and events.
    • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers’ ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
    • Perform partial checks of the posting process
    • Enter data, maintain records and financial statements
    • Process accounts receivable/payable


    • Proven bookkeeping aptitude and experience.
    • The working hours of this job may vary from early morning start times to afternoon start times depending on needs of organization. Must be flexible with schedule.
    • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
    • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
    • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
    • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
    • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
    • Customer service orientation and team player attitude.
    • High degree of accuracy, flexibility and attention to detail
    • Other duties as assigned at the Foundry including coverage of front desk duties.
