Position Overview

  • Key member of the Data Center Services Mgmt Team.     
  • Manage the day-to-day data center operations for MCPc. This includes internal and customer facing IT operations.
  • Maintaining / upgrading / new installation of computer operations at H5 data center including but not limited to Servers, Storage, Networking, Wireless.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of expanded MCPc facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CTO in delivering IT related solutions internally and externally.
  • Escalation point for computer-related issues
  • Provide hardware and software solutions (bill of materials + Cost) as required by customers and MCPc.
  • Assist in preparation for customer facing presentation of technical solutions; some customer facing presentations.

Qualifications

Training and Education

 

Pre-Sales

  • Assist Data Center VP and CTO and Solutions architects in estimating work efforts for the Data Center Solutions.
  • Estimation for required time for project completion.
  • Review Solution design
  • Use technical expertise to assist in the preparation of pre-sales materials required to assist in the sales process.

Technical Research

  • Stay current on Data Center technologies (servers, storage, network, multi-tenant concepts)
  • Maintain the technical certifications as required.
  • Act as an internal resource due to your awareness of computer technology.

Key Outcomes of the Position

  • MCPc customers will be provided with technical solutions that meet and exceed their business needs. 
  • MCPc customers and internal associates will know they can depend on the the engineer to provide technical expertise in their given area.
  • MCPc’s technical expertise will remain up to date.

Skills and Attributes Required:

  • Technical expert with:
  • Microsoft Server O/s
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • VMware server vitualization; design and implemenation
  • Network design; design and implemenation
  • Multi-Tenant Data Center Operations experience

Experience and Educational Requirement necessary to the job:

  • 10+ years of complex systems management. 
  • Installation and ongoing service for servers, storage, network. 
  • Extensive experience with server virtualization; VMware required, other are desireable
  • Broad IT experience across the major components in an IT infrastructure environement
  • Experience in operating an multi-tenant Data Center Environment

Physical Requirements:

 

This position involves sitting, walking around, standing, reaching and some heavy lifting (50-100lbs) and carrying items.  The position involves fine muscle control (typing and using tools), the ability to see a computer monitor, hear and converse are necessary.
